Adoption Day
Jen legally adopted Graham today. While it seems unfair that we had to jump through this logistical hoop, it gives us some protection at the federal level (and in states like Florida and Utah). So we headed down to the courthouse this morning and met a very nice judge, who fell in love with Graham a little, even after he puked on her courtroom floor (imagine our lawyer scrubbing at the stain with paper towels). We took a bunch of pictures and the judge talked to Graham about being a lawyer when he grew up. Then we came home and all took a nap.

just fantastic. if i were not sure that you were already in bed or heading there, i would call you to celebrate. as is, i will wave a sponge in a particularly celebratory manner as I go, now, to wipe pureed green beans off my counter.
it sucks that you have to do this but it is still grand that you are such an amazing family.
also: jen, that is an amazing scarf. you look so french, and yet casual. both of which are amazing qualities in a newly-legal mama.
The scarf gene. Little understood, it is most common amongst French women. You should see family gatherings, Sarah. I've often been astonished and jealous myself.
